Calathea is a group of plants with one of the most exotic and beautiful foliage you can find. Their leaves change position slightly during the day in response to changes in temperature and humidity or moisture requirements.
Calatheas are demanding in their care, but well worth the effort.
They like bright indirect light, however never place in direct sunlight.
As they are sensitive to the water, the best water to use for them is distilled or rain water. You can also use tap water if you allow it to sit out overnight before watering.
Humidity is very important for Calathea. Misting or a humidifier can help. You may also need to place the plant pot on a tray with wet pebbles.
Calathea is non-toxic plant.
